30 Hour Famine - Will Starve for Food

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of children in the developing countries of the world? Are you willing to be the hands and feet of Christ here in New Mexico? Do you want to put yourself in the shoes of the "least of these, my children"

All this and more is available to you during the 30 Hour Famine to benefit World Vision. The goal is to fast for 30 hours and raise pledges for each hour you don't eat. The funds are used by World Vision to feed, clothe and educate children around the world.

This year's 30 Hour Famine will be held March 27 and 28 at St. Francis Episcopal Church, Rio Rancho. As in past years, we will host a lock-in from Friday to Saturday and will do a service project to benefit the community. And of course we are planning on a fair bit of fun and learning during our time together.

Interested? please call or text Fr. Daniel @ 505.850.3975 or email me @ revdcave@gmail.com

Make plans to join us!
What do you get with you mix 50 Jr, Mid and High school teens, 8 chaperones, 60 inches of snow, two really hot Christian rock bands, and the Holy Spirit...?

Snow Slam 09!!!

This was one fabulous weekend! The weather was perfect this past President's Day weekend as both teens and band members took to the slopes at Ski Santa Fe for a day of shredding and carving. We had everything from never-ever snowboarders and skiers to black diamond experts. By the end of the day, there were smiles and sore muscles all around.

The teens were treated to two evening concerts from A Rotterdam November and The Red Airplanes. These guys really rocked the camp with messages of Christ's saving love and amazing grace. If you haven't heard their music on the radio, check out their myspace pages. If you enjoy rock music with a positive Christian message, you'll like these bands!

If you want to see what all of the excitement was about go to www.stmarksonthemesa.org and click go to the youth page, then click on the Snow Slam picture link. This will take you to the Kodak picture gallery were you can view and share the memories...Thanks Emilio!

Thanks to all those who submitted design suggestions for a new Snow Slam logo. The judges are busy pouring over the entries and will announce a winner in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks also to all the chaperones, parents, and prayer warriors that supported us during the weekend. May the Lord continue to bless you all!

This year was so much fun that plans are being made now for next year's event so mark your calendars!
